Catholic Church convention

Catholic Church convention

Members of the Roman Catholic Church in Winterthur (Kirchgemeinde) come together twice each year and join in a Catholic Church convention, in which they make decisions on aspects of life in the Catholic Churches. These can include, for example, decisions on building projects, the Catholic Church budget and the church tax rate.

The Catholic Church convention also selects the Catholic Church authorities: the members and president of the Parish Council and the members and president of the auditing commission.

Members of the convention assist in the re-election of parish priests, parish administrators, parish community lay leaders and parish representatives. Members of the Catholic Church may bring requests to the Catholic Church convention.
